Joshua Ward
Founder, Producer & Voice Actor
Raised between Bath and Bristol as an acting, composing, choirboy poet, Josh waited tables and got yelled at in call-centres before receiving a 1st in Drama and Theatre from Royal Holloway and directed or performed in over 30 shows. After just missing out on the BBC New Writers programme, a wilderness year - working kitchens, waiting tables and singing on the streets of Bath. Saved by a Bristol spoken word poetry night, he was noticed and invited to tour the UK festival scene, winning slams and awards for his writing and falling back in love with performance. After working more jobs truly too odd for this bio, a Prince's Trust radio-making course awoke his love for radio drama in which he earned a Masters degree. Looking for drama work, Josh was whisked off to Beijing, writing and directing school plays before teaching Theatre and Music in London state schools for 6 years. He then jumped to advertising, working up to become a Lead Creative in a big fancy media agency with free coffee, directing celebs and writing adverts. Committed to culture for all, he's jumped ship to finally set up Windstep and make what truly matters.
